Been trying to do some TCP/IP experiments with DOSBox Optionals, but I can't connect to the internet because as far as I've read, there isn't a way to connect DOSBox's NE2000 emulation to Wifi, only Ethernet. That being said, is there a workaround for getting my wifi adapter to show up in the realnic list?

You mean https://github.com/MartyShepard/DOSBox-Optionals ? I'm not familiar with that one.

What were you reading about NE2000 emulation?

If all else fails you could try running DOSBox in a virtual machine , which might provide more tolerant network hardware.

The NE2000 emulation uses PCAP in promiscuous mode, which does not work with WIFI adapters.

As Jorpho suggested, you could run DOSBox in a virtual machine and use that virtual machines virtual network to bridge to your wifi. But that probably means it only works for DOS applications needing TCP/IP.

Assuming you have an Ethernet port, but simply no nearby Ethernet cable nearby to plug into it, something like this may help: https://www.amazon.com/IOGEAR-Ethernet-2-WiFi … 7/dp/B018YPWORE

Disclaimer: I have never tried one of these devices.

IIRC, the issue isn't winpcap but the wifi driver. It's possible if you hunt down the right wifi card and driver then you'd be good. Try investigating sniffer compatibility guides if you want to go down that route.

It's not impossible to use wifi card with (win)pcap and thus with NE2000 emulation of DosBox. As DosFreak has written this problem is entirely driver related. I have and old 802.11g SMCWPCI-G Wifi network card that works perfectly in DosBox with the generic Atheros driver but not with its specific SMC driver.

That one is quite expensive. The Vonets ones are cheaper and work just fine:

There are a bunch of different models.
