Dmetsys you were 100% correct about the usb floppy drive. I hooked up a internal floppy and bingo my win2k recognized the driver and installed to the hard drive! Thank you so much as i have been chasing my tail for days! Now i have another issue with my MBR.
You see once win2k installs to the hard drive it does a reboot. However during that reboot i get a fast message (couldn't open the boot partition) or something like that. So win2k just loops and goes for the install again. So just to clarify below.
When i turn on the computer with the win2k cd in the drive. It does not give me a option to boot from cd or hard drive. I do not get to chose. So same deal when win2k is installing and loads all files on my drive. On the reboot i do not get the option to load from hard drive. I just boots again from the win2k cd.
So i figured i will try a win9x start up disk/boot disk and i switch the options in the bios to boot from A: drive. The floppy boots to A: and try to run fdisk commands but the computer has no idea about the sata hard drive is hooked up.
I think when i installed Linux mint it took over my MBR. I haven't been able to figure out how to recover it. However i will say this. I would still like mint or ubuntu installed on the this computer with win2k. If that helps any with the issues.
So any ideas on how to fix my MBR?
