Hi, I recently downloaded DOS-BOX. It was recomended to me from another help forum, since I recently uploaded Sierra's Quest for Glory 3 and Kings Quest 5 onto my computer. Both games play smoothly, but neither has sound. QFG:3 says "unable to initialize audio hardware." I have a very fast computer and excellent sound, and was told that by running these two games through DOS-BOX, I can get them working. The problem is, I don't know how to use DOS-BOX, and the FAQ is confusing!
Basically, it's a DOS command prompt. I've never really used DOS, but I vaguely know how it works.
Firstly, DOS-BOX has "Z:\>" instead of "C:\" which I remember DOS having, and I don't know how to get it to C. Secondly, I typed the extention of the file in:
C:\Documents and Settings\Jack\Desktop\oldschool games\Quest for Glory 3\SIERRA.EXE
It said it was unable to access that for me.
How can I get DOS-BOX to run my games?? Sorry if this question has been asked, but searching through forums for previous threads has occupied me for the past couple days, and it's gotten tedious! Please help!
