i am using the latest version of dosbox and also installed the pc cd patch for discworld
soundset autodetects sounddevices.. but if try to start discworld i end up back in the dosprompt with big letters: "D:\Discwld.. where D is my cd drive.
i would be very thankfull for any help

Nope, besides using the latest dosbox release, installing the game
within dosbox and configuring sound and maybe other stuff correctly.

i change the directory to c:\discwld.cd and start the DISC.BAT
Did you install it more or less as described in this guide:

You're doing something wrong. I don't know if you installed it wrong, or applied the patch wrong, or did something else wrong.
But the game works perfectly on my computer, and I've played it for many hours. Both with DOSBox 0.63 and 0.65 with their default settings. All I do is to mount C and D and go into C:\discwld.cd and start disc.bat.
many other games run without any problems... like monkey island the dig simon the sorcerer etc.
i dont know what i could have done wrong... i applied the patch from the discwld.cd directory and successfully configured the sound and run disc.bat...
what could go wrong.. i dont know
i just solved the problem
i installed the game and then copied all files from the folder "drivers" from the cd to the directory where i installed the game...
then config the sound with setsound and game did run
the patch seems to be incombatible to my version of discworld? i got the neon edition on cd
