Well, sometimes it seems difficult to identify a motherboard, so maybe someone can help me out here! This is one of the few boards that don't seem to have numbers that pull anything up with a Google search. What one result came was about a modern-ish server board, but that didn't have any relevance to what I do have. So here are a couple of pictures.

It's missing the BIOS chip, which I believe stopped working on me at one point since it just stopped working. A 386SX BIOS did get it to boot, and I tested this a long time ago, but I never did toss the board. I'm hoping to find information and possibly a BIOS file to give to keropi to try to revive this thing! 😀

The 94-v part appears to be a UL rating, beyond that I'm stumped too. I also searched for the B82L07-A bit to no avail. My first instinct was that it's another unlabeled pcchips board, but I have no evidence to support that.

Dell Dimension XPS R400, 512MB SDRAM, Voodoo3 2000 AGP, Turtle Beach Montego, ESS Audiodrive 1869f ISA, Dreamblaster Synth S1
Dell GH192, P4 3.4 (Northwood), 4GB Dual Channel DDR, ATI Radeon x1650PRO 512MB, Audigy 2ZS, Alacritech 2000 Network Accelerator

Hmm... I just removed the white sticker. Because I recall another board I had, had some numbers under it.

Which, led me to another forum which led to this!

But I wonder if there's anywhere I can obtain the BIOS at.

Yep, you're right. The fic ftp site also doesn't have a bios listed for a 486-j. It probably wasn't flashable. Sorry I couldn't be better help, the research was fun though.

Sorry for re-necroposting.

Recently I got this FIC 486-J motherboard. It was failing to not due to the empty Dallas, but that's fixed now.
I put on 8x 1MB ram. It seems totally stable and works as expected, even with the ISA bus at 10MHz. Actually a little faster than I expected without L2: about half the speed of an Asus ISA-486V2, DX/2-66 with 256kB cache and 8MB ram.

3D bench 1.0c
Tseng ET4000AX: 13,4
Oak oti077: 12,4
Chips 451: 9,5

It has the AMI BIOS chip still on it and I could look into extracting the image. Only one problem: how do I do that?

Stuck at 10MHz...

Give GETROM a try, it's a DOS utility used to extract BIOS images.

If you obtain the BIOS image, let me know, so I can add it on uh19.

Got it 😀

64kB of what looks to me like character rubbish 😜

the program works perfectly.

I've also extracted some strings out of the file.

waterbeesje,
I guess now all you need is a nice photo of the board and post it in the 486 BIOS rom thread ?
80486 BIOS image collection 😁

Right to repair is fundamental. You own it, you're allowed to fix it.

Thank you, added it to UH19.

X0-0100-001121-00101111-021993-VIA , this is 100% an FIC board.

I`ve tried this BIOS, but it not works on my board. No beeps, no postcodes. I found AWARD BIOS for 486-JAL and board works with it.
