Weee.... Birthday today....

I am now officially 45 years old today, so I had my children, their half-sister and mother over for some nice cake.
Three spunge cake, with layers of goodness in between. From the bottom up, the first a thin layer of blueberry marmelade.
Then on top of that, whipped cream (1/4 litre) mixed with one tablespoon of Scottish single malt (Glen fiddich) and
some crushed macrons (those slightly burned marengs).
Top layer of goodness is vanilla custard/creme and 150 gram of chopped dark chokolade and on the top of the cake,
some dark frosting, made from powdered sugar, baking cocoa and a splash of boiling water (to make a shiney finish).

And then homemade hot cocoa with whipped cream.... Ohhh yeah.....

Happy birthday my friend! That chicken and asparagus dish was fantastic the whole family really enjoyed it. My two boys want me to make it again. It was a nice easy dish to make as well. Your birthday treat you have there looks amazing enjoy!

Wonderfull.... That is great news. 😜
And thanks. 😀

I just found some shrimps in the local shop (those that are sold in a kind of liquid), so I have bought 6 fresh lime fruits and some 38% sour cream as well. I will be marinading the shrimps in lime juice and then make a dip/dressing. Made from sour cream, lime juice, salt, tons of black pepper (like in extreme to the max) and then a bit of sugar to counter the sourness of it all.

Finally.... I have found this liver paté (in Denmark known as leverposteg), that are this new version called double bacon. Yup, 15% smoked bacon. I will heat it up in the oven, and eat it on bread with butter and some butter roasted mushrooms of different kinds.

Jokbal - which is this Korean pork knuckle dish, somewhat similar to the German Eisbein, except you serve it with shots of soju (Korean grain spirits). Got some air fryer roasted Brussels Sprouts, king oyster mushrooms and Shisho peppers as sides.

Heh, talk about the wrong types of after-lunch flavor to complement a heavy burger. Especially that Salmiakki - *ugh*. You figure they’ll have a lemon sorbet or something.

It had nachos, guacamole and salsa. I've never tried any of the ice creams there, the colors already make me sick. I'm sure they have shakes as well, but I had a strawberry one at a Burger King in Poland last summer and the amount of sugar in it was absolutely sickening. I'll probably never order another shake ever.

Butterbrod. A piece of bread with butter and some Doktorskaya sausage on top, garnishes with freshly ground salt and pepper. Would put some Polish Mayonnaise on it but can’t find it for some reason.

Have you ever tried dipping fresh grapes into peanut butter? It is like peanut butter and jelly, but the jelly is fresh, cool and pops when you bite down on it. One of my favorite snacks. I'm a crunchy peanut butter lover.

I had greasy homemade protein burgers for dinner today...

1: Small handfull of mixed salad, on top of some good burger dressing.
2: One fried egg with a slice of fried ham.
3: Burger paddy made from minced beef, weighing some half a pound (250 gram)
4: Ketchup.

Uhh... And I had two of those burgers for dinner. Mmmm... Protein from 3 different animals. It was good and I am full. 😜

Thanks... Yeah... It was tough to get through a pound of meat, 2 slices of ham and two egg's..... One can say that the bread was just to keep it together. 😁
