Hi guys. Been testing this socket 8 MB. I´m having some incompatibility issues, but they are being sorted, however, yesterday i tried two ISA soundcards which seem to be PnP. An ESS 1868F and an Yamaha YMF719E-S.
None of these cards are being recognized, no matter the ISA slot i use. All of the slots were tested. Any ideas? The PSU has -5v line. IDE channels and PCI channels are working fine.

What OS, how are you trying to initialize them, what software doesn't recognize them (Windows, a game)?

Windows 98 SE doesnt recognize any of these cards. They don´t show up in hardware manager. And on boot up, the cards dont show up on device list before windows startup

PnP OS in the BIOS is set to YES? Enough resources to assign to the PnP cards?

IRQ-3 and 4 is assigned to Legacy ISA. IRQ from 5 to 15 is assigned to PCI/ISA PnP (IRQ-6, 8 and 13, don´t appear on the list).
DMA-0 to DMA-7 is assigned to PCI/ISA PnP

PCI IRQ Activated by : Level
PCI IDE IRQ Map to: PCI-AUTO

These are the settings in BIOS

Do you have the options
- Resources Controlled By
- Reset Configuration Data

It would be strange to have defective EEPROMs on both sound cards.

By the way. Aren´t the ISA slots controlled by the Southbridge of the 440FX chipset?
What about PCI slots? Are controlled by Northbridge or Southbridge? PCI works perfect

Can you switch to AUTO and Enabled? See if the cards get listed somewhere with those settings.

You could try restarting into DOS and initializing them with Unisound, just as a check.

Of course. I will try that. Will test an AWE64 today with those settings. Will try even a diferent PSU because of -5v
