Is Wave Out derived from the interface for the Adlib? Also, what is the audio interface for the original IBM Music Feature card called?

In other words, by using Yamaha's wave out instead of IBMs core audio, is that what it is called? cause IBM to release OS/2?

no idea what you mean. Are you talking about wave out as its referred to 9x? in this context wave out is the API for playing digital sounds. It could come from adlib, or it could come from another implementation. It doesn't have to be derived from adlib. But it might be derived from adlib if all you have is adlib.

WaveOut API as seen on Windows is definitely something inspired by and made to work with PCM stream cards like SB, PAS and WSS.
