You can see that the cards have the same color, but some (or the majority) of the cards have different layouts. And it is somewhat arranged in the way of "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy".

can anyone fill me in on what this card is exactly? i want to see how sharp the vga picture is on my sony cpd-e220 crt. would maybe relegate it in a build to play age of empires and MS games. what would the performance be compared to current setup?

I used to be quite involved over on the Matrox Users Resource Centre (MURC) forums and was picked along with 3 or 4 others to beta test for Matrox back in the day so they sent me some G400, G450, G550 and Parhelia cards over a couple of years. Got a trip to CES one year in Germany too when they had a big stand there... I think I spent most of it drunk though hahaha

Wow... Very impressive collection... I guess it's a big job just to take a picture of all these. I recently had a chat with collector from Croatia, and he says that Matrox cards are actually among most durable products, no issues with capacitors or similar components. I guess their build quality was outstanding back then, probably nowadays as well as they focus on medical industries.

They just don't put all that much on there that would break over time. I've attached pics of my Xenia Pro, targeting the radiography market, which has but four (generously specced) electolytics. On the other hand, the heatsink only contacts the main chip, everything else is uncooled. On the other other hand, that little fan is running at 100% all the time, so maybe they're counting on drafts...

(Oh and just in case someone would like to see benchmarks since there isn't much out there about these: This a 2008 card; 3dmark 06 gave me <1 fps with default settings, ~2 at minimum settings, 3dmark 2000 ran at slightly above 20. I forget the resolution, but it was low. Do not buy these for gaming, no matter how much you like the brand. They're supposed to be pretty good at displaying grayscale images at high bit depths though.)

Yes they seem to avoid any fragile electronic components in their designs. Never seen this model though.... it looks tough, real Matrox hardware. I guess if they can survive radiation they can survive anything 😁 In the consumer market, this is now called "military grade" (MSI marketing 😁)
