Hello Vogoners,

I've built a setup as follows;

Mobo: Mitac IH4077CN
CPU: 486DX-66 CPU
Ram: 8MB
Graphics: Cirus Logic VLB Card
OS: Dos 6.22
Audio: Sound Blaster AWE32 (CT3910)
Midi Hardware : Roland MT-32

I will be using this system for Lucas Arts Adventure Games which supports Roland MT-32 hardware.

I will use softmpu since I don't have any HW for it.

Now question is, I was able to use my MT32 with SB16 cards (although the have hanging note bugs) and install the drivers using SB 16 installation disks. That disks also contains "Mixerset" which we need for arranging midi outputs.

But in Awe32 drivers there is no mixerset? it installs only CTCM folder and it contains almost nothing (not even CTMIDI file).

Can you point me out the best and most clean way to install my AWE32 in Dos 6.22?

Should I use ctcmbbs.exe and copy mixerset ctmidi etc drv manually?

how my autoexec.bat should be at the end?

Thanks.

There are plenty of AWE32 driver disks available here:

There is bound to be a installer that has the mixerset program on it. Afaik you can use the mixerset program from any version of the cards (16, awe32 or awe64) for any of the soundcards.

To use the midi output on the card you only have to set the port right (330 or 300) and specify it on the card jumpers or in the configs (if its pnp). No other drivers required.

As for the autoexec.bat, this is the most used configuration:
C:\APPS\SB16\DIAGNOSE /S
C:\APPS\SB16\MIXERSET /P /Q

You can type MIXERSET /? And find all the parameters. Pretty useful if you want to mute the microphone or beeper for instance.
