Hi everyone,
First time poster.
I recently acquired a Roland MT-32 (old version, no headphone jack). I'll attach a pic of the insides.
It powers on fine, says SOFTMPU on the display when that loads, says LucasArts Games when I run iMuse (Tie CD), etc. Display is sharp. So far so good.

Problem is when I play music, it is filled with varying degrees of static or what I'd call white noise.

You can hear a sample of what I mean here...https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ogSv_84u8Bec … iew?usp=sharing

Please note that the music is there, it is playing, but just shrouded with tons of noise. It does show the varying instruments being played.

Any suggestions?

I've already tried a replacement power supply, no change. Still noisy.
I've enabled the /delaysysex command in SoftMPU, no change.

Specs:
Pentium Pro 180
64 MB RAM
SB AWE 64 (DSP 1.16)
Win98SE - DOS only boot

Happy to answer any questions or provide more information. Thank you in advance!

UPDATE! For anyone with this problem in the future, I was able to somewhat fix it by changing the MT-32 Reverb level. Do this by holding down the MASTER VOLUME button and then pressing VOLUME right above it. Using the knob, when I adjust the reverb to level 0, it sounds perfect. If it is already on 0, change it to something else, then back to 0 (zero).
FURTHER UPDATE! When music tracks change the reverb setting, it messes up again (static) until I change it back to 0. Is there any way to turn REVERB off?
