Hmm... I only hear some wiered noise on my Schneider EuroPC with OPL3TEST. This sounds very wrong.

Hmm, buzzing sounds?
Can't really describe.

Make a recording of it with your phone and upload it here.
I bought it a while ago, but never used ist before. My first target was a late PIII with onboard sound but still native LPT. But I never tested it. Now I am checking out if I can make use of it on my Schneider EuroPC and that was the first time I ever used it. First I heard strange noise but I checked out the power-supply (that was OK) but the cable was not good, it gave me interference. After I changed the cable it was silent. then I downloaded some stuff from the google-drive. most of these are not usable for my xt. even the driver seem to require 386+...but there was a test program. I started it and I can really tell what I am hearing. It A mixture of very silent opl-sounds and a lot of strange interference/noise (much louder then any opl-sound). I was contacted from sedra-shop (thx!) and he told me that I have to check my version of the device. And that I will do today.

your opl3lpt is an early one that does not have the pullup yet :
See this information : http://serdaco.com/downloads/OPL2LPT/Document … OPL3LPT_FIX.pdf
All recent opl3lpt have this pullup as smd resistor, but early ones (before dec 2018) need this 1k resistor added
for compatibility with some pc's. so I expect it will solve the compatibility issue for your euro PC, as opl3lpt works fine on your other k6 pc.
I will pm you to arrange for an update.

But I have some questions towards LPT-Device on XT-Class machines.
- AFAIK the "driver" that is used to look for 388 (Adlib) and routs it to LPT is 386+
- That means only directly patched sound-engines will work on OPLxLPT with XT/AT
Is there a patched driver for the SC0 Games? I could not find, perhaps it exists.
Beside the opl3text I have no software for it 🙁
Thx

For XT class machines, adpatch can patch a number of games.
see the OPL16bit demo pack : The Unofficial OPL2LPT and OPL3LPT demopack (for convienient testing of Adpatch)
SC0 games are not (yet) supported by adpatch
see this demo of patched Major Stryker with opl3lpt : https://youtu.be/UDef_cbdnrA

Thx, SC0 patches would be great because on my Schneider euro-pc i can use 16colors in a special mode with rgb-cga.
If I could also use OPLlpt it would be AWESOME!!!

Hi,
OPL3LPT Now Work with Mod Master, for : .IMF, .RAW, .DRO, .RAD, .VGM (S3M and SAT Still does not work yet)
Mod Master function like playlist is working.
It is fast enaugh to play DOOM Music on a 8086 (SBVGM Is too slow for it)

Hi,
Does this have support for Windows 98 SE? So I could use Soundblaster emulation for sound fx and this for music
How far along have the drivers advanced in terms of emulating soundblaster sound fx? Something like this would be perfect if it had Soundblaster OPL3 support for both sound fx and music
Just wasted an entire friday getting my OPL3LPT to work on windows 10 using a LPT PCIe card with asix chipset.
tried many configuration including its legacy port support but Scummvm couldn't open port 278,378 or 3bc
Look inside the Devices Manager for LPT.
It pretty sure use entirely different address.
It may only support legacy printers.

Parallel port PCI and PCIe cards should technically work, because they usually implement a backwards compatible interface.
The I/O resources are assigned by the plug-and-play mechanism, though. You will therefore have to look up the correct port numbers.
USB parallel port adapters, on the other hand, are usually pure printer adapters.
