Hopefully I havent trapped myself in a corner here!
I recently acquired an Asound AS004, based on the ALS100plus chip.
I downloaded the driver from Vogons' repository for both the 100+ and the 100.
The issue I'm having is that the drivers appear to have 386+ required.
Can anyone confirm this, or maybe supply a link to 286 compatible drivers?
When I run any of the driver package, any executable intended for dos, I simply get a locked up machine. The TSR screen saver still works, but otherwise the machine is unresponsive.
Machine is a PS/2 Model 25-286 with my own riser board for 3 IDE devices.
I have an XT-IDE mapped to C800, a network card mapped to IO port 300 and built into the card a UMB provider from CA00-E000.
The machine works great, except for this failure at running a sound card. I may have bought something too new, to where 386 would be expected for the driver software
Please help!
Thank you
