That's a fantastic idea to save those pages to the way back machine. I usually take a bunch of screen shots but your idea is alot better.

You know what's even better? The Wayback Machine browser extension. Get it. Makes archive life a lot easier.

so you can choose any site and wayback will make a copy?
wish i knew that a few years ago when aopen drivers website was still visible with detailed data on each driver

It must have been more than a couple months, I can't find it either. I can't even find a single picture of a boxed PAS online. 🙁

EDIT: This is driving me mad. I even checked my saved sellers and can't find it. Time has flown by... maybe it was before January, which wouldn't show up on ebay anymore. I wish I would have at least saved the pictures. I was just so disgusted... at the time I was checking for stuff like that daily, as well as using saved searches and still managed to miss it. 🤣

i have a boxed pas16
the card broke and trashed it, i kept the box and contents, if you want i can take pictures of it.

I did find a site that had archived the listing.

Sold for $55. Let's all cry now... Except for whoever bought it.

Yes at $55 would be a good price but really is only good for XT's, not something you would run in a 286 or better. I got one a decade ago for about 1/2 that (8bit PAS mod number 650-0002-01 rev1) and am surprised it went for under $75 being that they now quite rare. Added: they only thing that can wrong with them is the two low profile fat 3300uf 16v caps behind the audio output jack.

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

Nice! I paid a bit more than that for a bare card.

Look at the round price sticker on the box. Looks like somebody found it at a thrift store or yard sale for $10.

Thank you for that. That browser extension is sweet that'll make life easier.

I saw this on sale for about 18 USD so I immediately grabbed it.

Did I overpay?

I think it will make a great primary card for my Cyrix 5x86 DOS build when paired with a PCMIDI MPU-401 and Roland MT-32.

For $18 that's a steal. Good soundblaster compatibility, real OPL3, built-in wavetable.

The Underdog - The budget K6
The Voodoo powerhouse - The power-hungry K7
The troll PC - The Socket 423 Pentium 4

I seriously have absolutely NO idea about how compatible it is or how good its wavetable sounds. I have no cards with onboard wavetable so when I saw it I sprung on it..

Yeah, I'd say you got ripped off 😜

Here's what I got yesterday:

SYx10gN.jpg

The CRT is a later model (2000) - nice and compact. I'll pair this with the VLB 486 I'm building now.

The one tower has a nice ABIT board inside:

I was able to test all my P4 chips in it. 😁

I have an ABIT IC7-G just kind of...sitting around. It's rather finicky about RAM, I put some Kingston HyperX 1GB sticks in it and it only recognizes them as 512MB each.

I have not even looked at the RAM in this board - it shows a total of 1gb, so I'm guessing they're 256k units. For now I'm dealing with a boot issue on it, as I replaced the IDE drive with a SATA. I was tired yesterday so I gave up on it. I'll probably play with it tonight. IT's a 3.0 HT now 😁

Yeah, my board has Prescott support so I put a 3.2GHz Prescott chip in there with a beefy cooler.

Sure, the practical uses are very limited.

However the rarity and collectible value of these is through the roof. A bare card just sold on ebay recently for $400 US, and I have yet to see a picture of a retail box for one on the internet anywhere. I'm not saying it is reasonable by any means, but I don't doubt that if that boxed PAS had been left to auction it would have passed a thousand dollars. Just look at some of the ridiculously huge collections of boxed hardware some have around here. I have a small collection of boxed stuff, but I would never spend these prices on them. Seeing something that is, for all practical purposes unattainable, sell for only $55 is a big deal.

I have seen many many more boxed Adlib Gold cards listed on ebay, and those go insanely high ($2500-$4700 recently). Again, it's not reasonable to me... they have hardly any practical use, but people who want to collect exceedingly rare items don't care. A boxed PAS is about as rare as any production sound card I can think of, short of the obscure brands of cards that few people know about (third party GUS\interwave variants, odd wavetable cards or daughterboards, etc.).

I bought an X1650 Pro 512 AGP for $33.00 total on Ebay. The seller listed it as PCIe, and priced it as one as well. A good price if I receive a working AGP X1650.

I recieved these 64-pin sockets in the mail today. And they are special sockets. They are not for the average 64pin MK68000 CPU's. Nope. The space are more narrow, in order to have an Commodore64 64-pin PLA sitting in the socket. They were extremely hard to source, as I had to search a long time on eBay. Sure I could have gone for leaf sockets that are standard, however I want the best for my next two homemade C64 clones. Turnpin I wanted, and turnpin I found.
