Hi all ! 😀

I have an old geforce FX 5900 that I would like to save.
Two components are missing at the card back and prevent the card from booting:

I've been able to identify the missing components :

component-2.png

Could someone explain me what are these components, and were could I find new ones to solder on my board ?

Thanks all ! 😀

U501 might be an LMC7211, SOT23-5 package.
As for the other part, most likely a transistor (I think it says Q51 on the silkscreen), but I can't really tell what's written on it before "004"

Hello sdz and thanks for your answer.

For the transistor, you are right, PCB says "Q510"

Do you know where I could find these parts ?

Thanks 😀

You can find LMC7211 at mouser, digikey and other major distributors, or on ebay. Just be sure to order the SOT-23 one.
As for Q510, I have no clue what that part is, a better photo would help.

Ok, thanks, will try to see if I can find one at a good price.

Concerning the Q510, I have no other picture of it.
Looks like the ASUS FX 5900 as quite the same PCB...maybe it can help identifying the component ?

They are all based on the same reference design, so photos of other cards might help. I googled a bit, but I couldn't find a clear photo of that area.

I am trying to read on my board as Q510 and Q512 have the same reference but I can't clearly read what's written 😒

I found the following transistor markings on other cards: A002, A004, A00C. No idea what transistors are those. These might be SM2300NSA.

Could be "A004" on mine...Thanks sdz !

If someone can help identifying this transistor, it would be great !

Possible replacement for SM2300NSA would be ZXMN2B14FH. This is also available at major distributors.

Thanks sdz for all these usefull information !
Do you know a mouser or digi-key alternative available in Europe ? (shipping cost from USA are 10 times the price of the components).

Thanks !

Both mouser and digikey offer free shipping for orders above 50-60E.
Farnell and RS are distributors located in europe, you can try searching for the parts there.

It's really hard for a noob like me to buy electronic components 😀
There are multiple references and they are often sold in high quantities.

Concerning the LMC7211 I can see there is a "simple" or "double" power supply. Do you know which one is the good one for the card ?

Tanks again 😀!

It's just a comparator, it can be used with simple or double power supply as needed. Anyway, on the card it is configured with a simple power supply.

You're welcome and I hope you get the card working 😀

Thank for all sdz ! 😀

A good provider is farnell, they're from the UK.
LMC7211AIM5/NOPB: farnell code 3005545
ZXMN2B14FH: farnell code 1426252

Thanks for the references.
For now the best price I found is around 17€ on the RS website.
Will try to find better as it shouldn't cost more than 3€ for these components I think ?
