This thread is about the Wyse WY-2108 computer system: diagnostics, upgrades, and current issues.

I received the system about a week or two ago and did some testing to see why it had no video and the video works (monochrome video).

The keyboard was a pain in the rear to get going since the setup I made wasn't working at all (attempted to do an AT-4P4C converter and the clock speed in the AT keyboard was causing it to not work at all), but I found an Ink (Wyse branded) keyboard on eBay for a good price and it works.

The battery was dead (3.6V lithium) and I got the 6V battery setup working and I got a couple of items installed: Genoa Super EGA 4880 8-bit card in place of the mono/parallel card and the XT-CF card with the 64MB CF card with DOS 6.22 installed (from my Compaq Portable 1 PC for testing purposes) and got the system setup (BIOS configuration).

The downside: the floppy drives won't work at all (either a sector not found error, not formatting, and not booting from it), however, the drive parameters are set correctly and I swapped cables and floppy controllers without success. The other issue is the enter key on the keyboard takes 2-3 presses to register due to the side mounts for the enter that aren't in place to make it more stiff or a dirty connection is there.

It has an 8MHz Siemens 286 CPU 68 pin LCC, 1MB RAM (640K Conventional, 384K extended), and it uses an SBC variant CPU/RAM/motherboard card.

The front LCD panel is in working condition and it looks amazing. Another thing to figure out is the turbo speed to a slower speed.

I'll post pictures of the system soon.
