Nice, there needs to be something easily available for people to be able to use their Pi 3/4 as an MT-32 / midi module, but right now there isn't one that's readily available for people to use.

Good that it's got the DAC integrated and what looks like the octocoupler. 😀

Actually, there are quite a few readily available MT32-Pi hat solutions you can DIY or purchase..

it appears there is healthy demand under 45 - 49 EUR / USD (shipping included) for such hats (including pcb / dac / midi in / oled / rotary knobs / simple case). A recent batch of 40 PI - MIDI hats was sold out in less than 2 days, with almost no advertising.

Such hats + RPI seem to be usable also for Mister FPGA / Amiga / Atari.

Quite selfish I know, but I am so happy this is aimed towards those using old style DIN midi connectors. My SB joystick/data output on my P3 running DOS 6.22 thanks you. And I do wonder, the PC has USB ports (not in use obviously as it is running dos), but perhaps the PC will power the USB C? Is there a large current draw? If so then no problem, just curious...

The pi has quite some power draw, around 2A current, I am using the official usb-c pi power supply.
Modern USB 3 ports may be able to provide such current, but old usb 1 ports will not, they generally deliver only up to 500mA.
