How good are they? Better or lower quality than others like Diamond and Creative?

I think they are all similar. Creative, Diamond and STB Voodoo2 are all reference designs.

I have a pair of STB Voodoo2 12MB cards and they've always worked fine. A friend gave me them around 2002. I rarely use them though because I prefer Voodoo3.

If we're talking about 3DFX Voodoo II boards, then they're all mostly the same. I have a 12MB Voodoo II Blackmagic card with all the memory ICs on one side, where some have memory on the back of the board. Some boards have faster memory but IIRC STB wasn't the only one to do this.

In other words, they all can take the same kind of punishment from software and hold up the same?
I know of V1's that were build using shitty memory and such.
So I thought that there might be lower and higher quality V2 exactly like V1.

Well... I will be getting one such card in the following week.
So I wanted to see if the card was build in a way that makes it a fragile card or a robust card.

I've got one of these about 1 or two weeks ago new old stock from a ebay seller in Russia.

This is the card

The card looks and feels ok and performs perfectly. But to be honest it's a bit strange that there's no memory chips at all at the back. They used 1MB chips instead of 512kb ones.

Yes. That is the model I will be getting this next week. (perhaps friday, I really don't know)
If it can run SLI with a Powercolor V2, using FastVoodoo2 4.6 (they say it supports mismatching cards), I might use the sli in my FanBoy-machine.
Else (The FanBoy) will run single V2. Wich is good enough for a simple machine like that.

There was a time a few years back where it seemed the STB cards were everywhere compared to the Creative rebranded ones. I got at least two spare SLI pairs and one loose card in a box somewhere.

I got 2 STB voodoos from russia as well half a year ago. 😀

Looks like someone found an unused bunch stashed away in a warehouse or somethin, seeing how many of them hit ebay...

Both of them work great on their own and in sli, signal quality is pretty good.

My builds!
The FireStarter 2.0 - The wooden K5
The Underdog - The budget K6
The Voodoo powerhouse - The power-hungry K7
The troll PC - The Socket 423 Pentium 4

Has anyone located a schematic for the STB Blackmagic card? I was gifted one that was roughly treated and needs repairs. I have a competent repair technician, but we need a schematic to verify components and values. Any help is appreciated.
