I've looked all over, but am running out of ideas so I'm hoping maybe someone can help. I picked up a Sony VAIO all-in-one that I'm trying to restore. It's model PCV-V300G, a Pentium 4 machine from late in the XP era. I got it with a blank hard drive, and while I can get a vanilla XP install on it and *probably* can track down the drivers, the big problem is that I won't have any of the multimedia software that came with the machine. It has a built-in TV tuner and capture card, and I'd like to get it as close to how it shipped from the factory as possible. The Internet Archive doesn't have any restore discs for this model (or any others in its series, like the PCV-V100G or PCV-210P). I found someone on eBay selling a complete V300G with the original restore disc, but they never replied when I messaged them and offered to pay for a copy of the disc.

I know it's probably a long shot, but perhaps someone has one of these machines in their collection with the restore disc?

Have you tried archive.org I've had great luck getting restore disks for OEM systems there.

I found this http://www.recovery-disks.com/sony-vaio-deskt … -pcv-v300g.html

And I saw there were a few sets on eBay as well.

I hope this helps you in your quest.

I'm a little concerned that the discs from that site are just burned copies of a generic Windows install, and whatever driver files they were able to scavenge from the Internet. But I can email them and ask.

I've had no luck finding the restore discs on eBay -- could you link to one of them that you found? Maybe I'm just using the wrong search terms.

I've ordered a few restore disks from them and they worked great.

The eBay page I saw this morning is no longer listed. But all I used in Google was "sony vaio pcv-v300g restore disk"

That is only a 2-disc set according to the site. I very much doubt that it is anything but a plain windows install and maybe all the drivers.

IDK I bought a restore disks set for my uncle's IBM Think Center and it was only two disks. But it had everything from the XP install to the drivers and all of the software that came with from the factory.

Well that is great if they actually have it. I would contact them first to be sure.

The other option is to download everything separately from the VAIO ftp archive. The only problem is figuring out exactly what needs to be downloaded since most stuff isn't organized by model number.
This is an active archive.... not mine.

That's a fantastic idea to comb through the archive since it's free.
