I currently have 24 retro PCs in my collection ranging from XT class all the way up to Core 2 Quad. I got to thinking the other day about what my favorite retro PC platform was and my answer without a doubt was Socket 7. There is just something about that era in the mid to late 90s that has the most nostalgia and the most fun for me. XT class systems come in a close 2nd as a Tandy 1000 was my first computer. Please chime in on your favorite retro PC platform.

Apparently 32-bit is dead and nobody likes P4s.
Of course, as always, I'm open to correction...😉

Amiga is currently my favorite, just due to the amount of hardware/software mods available, and how modern you can mod them to perform. (CPU accelerators, retargetable graphics cards, sound cards, ethernet cards, RAM expansions, video editing/switcher boards, flash based IDE and SCSI, several different OS choices, etc)

A close second is probably 486 or early Pentium era stuff, just because there are so many classic games I love from that timeframe. The hardware choices there are awesome as well.

386, while I do love a lot of games from the mid to late 90s from a pure hardware standpoint and pure nostalgia 386 is my favorite.
