I have some very old notebooks that have their casings breaking due to old plastic

I know that both plastic and leather benefit from common body moisturizers and automotive products, but I would like to know if there are any new possibilities to try.

You aren't going to get anything other than topical treatments that make the plastic look nicer. There's no way to end the brittleness since the inner part of the plastic has already chemically started to break down. Heating and boiling can bring some of the strength back, but for thin/detailed/delicate pieces, they will just warp under the heat needed.
