+ that whole jazz about over-formatting floppies to 1.7MB, so you could fit more files during teenaged bicycle visits to friends' places - I remember a phase of doing this.

Oh wow... Googling for screenshots, I used to use this but had completely forgotten about that. Amazing how an image can suddenly bring back memories like that.
