Well, for $5, I can’t say no to a nice project.
It’s missing a handful of keys, and I don’t have a way to connect or power it, but the price alone made it worth it. Now to recap it when the caps come in, find replacement caps and stems, and get it to actually work.

If you prefer something that is still being maintained for Alpha-based systems, you might want to consider NetBSD, OpenBSD, or, if you're brave enough, Gentoo Linux.
That Alpha DS10 is beautiful. Have you been able to try it out yet?

If you are feeling a little daring there is Windows 2000 RC2 @ REMOVED. That was the very last version of Windows to support the Alpha CPU. No idea if it will run on yours, but could be fun.

Yes! It fired right up, but without a hard drive (at the moment) it can't do much.

That's a 3D Labs Permedia 2 based card. That's a fun find.
I figured it was probably a 3DLabs card, I believe all the video cards supplied by DEC/Compaq for these systems were 3DLabs cards.
That makes sence to have a workstation card in that system.
That Alpha computer is pretty cool man, hope you have fun with it.
I bought a CT2230 for 16.50 not a bad price these days. TLDR its probably the best sb16 model.
I also got an AGP all in wonder x800 with all of the cables, including the special vivo cable for 75.00 Card worked. That a good price for it with that Vivo cable the card is worthless without it. Maybe not a great retro card but its considered a good card to capture analog video from things like LaserDisc and VCRs etc, becasue of its excellent comb filter, and useful software.
This is what I found while looking for parts for my "ultimate" (speedwise) Windows 98SE laptop that I am working on putting together.
256MB DDR2-800 SODIMM
And not just one... and not used. I found 100 brand new sticks which ended up being cheaper than ordering a couple used sticks.
I'll probably keep some spares for the laptop I am working on as well as a few for other builds and then sell the rest.
