Hello,
i installed Linux on my iMac G5 20 with 2 GB ram with Geforce FX 5200 Ultra, i wonder how bad is actually Power PC Linux gaming, i wanted to try it, because so far i had PowerPC CPU only in consoles.
I installed Lubuntu 16.04, here major problem seems to Geforce FX 5200 drivers, because its using only open Noueau drivers, which are know to be slow and problematic, but i tried to google and it seems that Nvidia or anybody else never release Nvidias Geforce drivers for PowerPC architecture, only to X86, ARM. I know that some PowerMacs had Radeons, some desktop had possibility to change graphics card.
Otherwise sound is working, networking is working, so its usable.
So far i tried Quake 3 and its running in 640x480 - 30 fps at low details, on same machine in Mac Quake 3 is running much faster in higher details..
I would which other AAA games where ported to Linux and make sense to try it on my machine.
So far i found this list:
