VOGONS

I have a Intel D815EEA motherboard and i'm having issues getting AGP acceleration to work in Windows 98SE with a Voodoo 3 3000 card.

To be clear the card works fine, is detected drivers install without issue and D3D /Glide/OpenGL acceleration are working fine.

However AGP is not. It isn't detected by Direct X either, I've tried upgrading from 6.1 to 7.0 and still no dice.

I've installed all intel chipset drivers, uninstalled re-installed Voodoo drivers, even tried a few different versions but still not working.

Other AGP cards seem to work fine, but not my otherwise a-ok V3, that has worked fine in other boards.

Anyone got any advice?

Could it be a BIOS issue? Are you running BIOS Update [EA81510A.86A] Version: P11 (Latest) Date: 7/19/2001 ?
Sorry just copied that off the txt but is the last BIOS for the board....

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

WDYM by AGP, no 3dfx card supports AGP beyond having an AGP connector.

Both my Voodoo4 and Voodoo5 don't have any AGP support other than running at AGP 2x for the Voodoo5 and AGP 4x for the Voodoo4.

What do you mean by "AGP acceleration" and "However AGP is not. It isn't detected by Direct X either" ?

The Voodoo 3 does not support AGP (texture) acceleration, if that is what you are referring to .

See http://helppage.3dfx.sk/ and http://nerdlypleasures.blogspot.com/2014/09/t … -3-chipset.html and https://community.khronos.org/t/voodoo3-3000- … celeration/9302

That is what I was referring to.

Thank you for that.

I was aware that they did not support any AGP features other than the slot bandwidth advantages, but I also could've sworn that Direct X was at least aware that it is a AGP card.
I guess my faulty memory is to blame.

Good to know!
