I had a set of floppies to install the first edition of windows 95.
The floppies wouldn't copy to an ordinary floppy (didn't fit)
When installed I put my personal info and key in soomething happened.
My personal details were recorded onto the floppy set and whenever i used something else than my personal info it errored out!
Is there a way around that?
Where and what made those floppies?
I tried a floppy set from REMOVED it did the same antics and this was from a hard disk folder.
Does someone have a set of windows 95 floppies unused to get a copy from?

If you do find one that isn't used, make sure to set the disks to write protect.

My guess is that this should be simple to fix. Just look at the files on probably the first floppy and there is probably a file that is dated newer than all the other files that the installer created when you entered your info.

There disk format was DMF if I remember correctly. 13 disks. You need a program like winimage , dd or similar to create the floppy disk set.

Beta Achive my have good images of them.

What system are you wanting them for?

My set is used.....

Readme file from winworld:

Microsoft Windows 95
Released by Microsoft in 1995
For 386 or higher based IBM PC compatibles.

This is a 1.44MB floppy disk version. Unlike the DMF (1.7mb) version,
these disks may be written to floppy by a lobotomized USB floppy
drive.

To write these images to a disk, use a disk writing tool such as
WinImage.

For faster installation on real hardware, boot a DOS disk, copy the
contents of all floppies to a folder on the hard drive such as
c:\setup, then run SETUP.EXE from that folder.

These images can also be resized for use on 1.2mb disks.

I'll give them a go but I remember trying that set before in an emulator didn't go well.
