The sound effects in GTA 2 do not stop playing when I quit the game to the main menu. With the main menu song, the sound effects continue to play being glitched (repeating effect). This video below will explain it, I disabled music so that you can clearly hear the problem: https://youtu.be/rNyFBF-Z5xo

Haven't found any solution to this issue. Only thing I could find out at DxWnd forums that this game uses the DSBPLAY_LOOPING flag and it doesn't terminate under most systems.

The problem isn't effective if I run the game at 640x480. As soon as I use a higher resolution the problem starts. Also the menu is at 480p resolution so using a higher resolution triggers something while switching to menu resolution and thus the problem is hearable.

Issue is effective under any Windows OS after Windows XP SP3.

I am out of ideas ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Already tried, none of them worked.

Funny thing is the issue never occurs if the game doesn't change resolution. Like if I use DxWnd and set the resolution to something like 2560x1440 while setting the game resolution from gta2manager to anything I want, the resolution change won't occur with DxWnd window because the windows size will be stretched/shrinked simultaneously by the program.
