Ahh those were the days. I built a machine for college shortly after the turn of the millennium.
My set up was a slot 1 P3 733 (coppermine), voodoo3 300 agp, 256 mb ram, 40 GB drive, and the much maligned SB Live. I'm not sure if i had a DVD or cd burner at that time, may have purchased later.
pricewatch was what i used to get an idea of the best prices. however all of this was purchased from indy vendors at the monthly computer show, sadly a thing of the past.
I wish i still had this hw 🤣
Why not buy it now again? It would cost you less than originally. SDRAM, HDDs, SB Live, DVD drives, ATX cases cost peanuts. Slot 1 board prices aren't too bad yet, although high frequency slot 1 CPUs are rare. It may be too late in 5 years.
