I've had my eye out for a Sound Blaster Pro 2 for a while and one is for sale for not a lot of money right now. He wants €70 for it BUT he mentions in his description:
- 2 channel sound doesn't sound good
- 4 channel sound does sound good
- no digital sound
"I suspect this is due to using the wrong driver or bad jumpers"
The jumpers are set as below:
Now this reeks to me of someone trying to make money out of a broken card. I mean, the jumpers are in their default position (220, 5,1) and while using the wrong drivers can stop digital from working, I'm confused about 2 channel not working properly because of that ...
On the other hand, it's a great deal IF it works and his other auctions are mostly of newer stuff so if he claims he doesn't know well how DOS works and didn't even install drivers ...
What do you guys think?
