I’ve been concentrating on 8-bit computers in my collecting, until now that is. I’ve had this old Asus motherboard in my possession for some time and I thought it might be fun to build a retro PC around it. Don’t mind the missing U17. I have the chip and I’m planning to resolder it back on. I also have a SB128 card but I need to find a PCI graphics card. I have a Geforce 2 MX but that’s AGP. I also need to find a suitable chassis, and I do have a specific one in mind. I used to have a 286 in the same chassis that firage was showing in his project thread.

Welcome to the forum!😃
That Pentium Overdrive is really nice but totally wasted on this S7 board. Likewise this pretty nice late S7 board is wasted on a Pentium processor.😄
I recommend getting an ISA sound card for this build too.
You found a new rabbit hole to go down.😉

Gotta go with what you got. 😄

In case you’re wondering the missing Winbond chip, I tried my SMD rework tool on that. It is hopefully still intact.

I wonder if the battery in that Dallas RTC is long gone?
