I'd like to make a MICRO 8088.
But it's almost impossible to get FARADAY FE2010A.
I searched and found that there is a clone model PROTON PT8010AF.
Will PT8010A work even if I put PT8010A in FE2010A seat?

Hey I've been wondering the same thing, although some youtube videos about an NEC V40 recently drew my interest away.
Couldn't ever find a datasheet for the PT8010AF chip but from what I've read they are interchangeable.

If you had the PT8010AF, you could check whether the grounds match. Or if you ever happen to come across this board, you could trace out where the pins go and see if they match up with where the FE2010 pins go. The bidding went too high for me to bother with this one but the pictures might be useful for reference:

As an alternative, check these out, he hasn't released the schematic but the NEC V40 integrates much of the functionality needed for an XT for just some other basic logic chips to be needed for a working XT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQeBS97YZlU

I'm really tempted to get one, but the keyboard controller is tough to find

Thank you for your useful information.
I'll have to zoom in and look at the picture slowly. 🤣
I asked PT8010AF vendors for datasheet, but they say they don't.
The insidious replicas and everything seems to be a secret.

Just a guess. The secret may well be that it's a copy of a copyrighted chip that Proton doesn't have a licence for. If I did this, I wouldn't be happy to release any more info than saying "it's 100% compatible" either 😜

Stuck at 10MHz...

Pinout looks the same (there is a match on VDD & VSS). But it doesn't seem to be a direct replacement in my setup. It might need different bios code, more investigation is needed..

[edit]
Meanwhile I've matched the following pins with the FE2010(A):
VDD
VSS
AD0
AD1
AD2
AD3
AD4
AD5
AD6
AD7
A8
A9
A10

A18
A19
IOR
IOW
AEN
RST
READY
CPUCLK
INTR
S0
S1
S2
ESPI
IRQ4
IRQ6
IRQ7

not 100% sure as pinout of connecting chips are unknown:
KBCLK
KBDATA
IRQ2
IRQ3
IRQ5

How did you do it? from photographs provided by Thermalwrong?

Can you share your progress on this? 😀

I actually have a working 8088 laptop with Proton chipset (see attachment). I wish I had the motherboard shown by Thermalwrong, that would make reversing a whole lot easier. As it's not a direct replacement in my setup (commodore PC-I motherboard with FE2010) I wanted to be sure my aliexpress proton chip is working so I replaced the laptop proton with the aliexpress one, proton chip is definitely working and is not a counterfeit. Reversing was done by tracing known pins (8088, F82C710, etc..) back to the proton, that's how I verified the above. I hope to find the differences so we can all further enjoy Sergey's work..

[edit]I wish my machine had a normal ISA bus, then I would have been done[/edit]

Great!

I have found more photographs with high detail in the following blog:

And there is already confirmation that it is indeed compatible:

@shimart , have you tried PT8010A?

I want to restore my late father's 1st ever computer IBM ET&T PC-XT that he gifted me.
Hope you will be kind enough to guide and support me to restore his loving memory.

I made Micro8088 & Nao8088 on PT8010a.

It's Good worked. 👍

Thanks for sharing.
Pls do share some pics of your setup.
