That's awesome, thanks!
That's awesome, thanks!
I would like to see the obvious inconsistencies in the data resolved.
f.e. the Pentium II system on the Intel 430TX board seems to be wrong.
Judging the scores I would guess it is a Pentium 233 MMX, but maybe Hydr0x can give his entry a review.
And the remaining non-stock systems should be moved from the regular table. (also the underclocked)
(like K6-III+ at 2x60 MHz)

Made a topic about this on Russian retro forum! http://www.phantom.sannata.ru/forum/index.php?t=15070#last
I hope the guys there will add some results, some of them have very decent collections of hardware.
Yea will definitely sort it out when I get to it 😀
Thinking of doing the charts in Excel in the future as I can program automatic charts and save time. Not getting anywhere within Google Docs. If anyone knows how to do automatic conditional charts I could really use your help 😀
Doing some housekeeping, so until then the system is locked for new entries. Just write them down somewhere and add them later please. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Ok the spreadsheet is open again for business. Quite a few things have been changed:
- Many sections now have pull-down options because spelling, punctuation and casing was very inconsistent. 20MHz, 20 MHz, 20 mhz....Most entries will show a red warning. To fix this, select the pull-down menu and choose the correct option.
- If you believe your product is not in the list or another one should be added, let me know ASAP and I can add it to the pull-down menus ASAP. What you can do is enter what you think is the best and highlight the cell.
- At the top you now have filters. So if you want to compare only 386 computers with no FPU you can do this. Or only see your entries, or only 486 machines with ISA slots.
- The graphics card area has more fields now. This will help us filter for specific chip companies (e.g. compare Nvidia with AMD). The same goes for motherboards. The labelling was shocking. Model numbers under maker, maker under model numbers, different way to type. The filtering only works if data is consistent, so for motherboard maker there is now also a pull-down menu
- Still not sure what to do with the graphs. They are a huge pain in the...
- The CPU area got a big overhaul. There are pull down menus for CPU type and FPU. Next to it you enter the rating or model number. These will be used to auto generate the full name. E.g. Am386DX 40 =Am386DX-40
This way we can do comparisons within a CPU type. E.g. a chart of Intel 386DX vs. AMD 386DX but can also get more detailed and look at all Am386DX-40 with a FPU and compare these.
filters don't work for me, I get a "no permission" error

Top right next to comments. People can talk in the spreadsheet 😀
So the filtering doesn't work 😒
It filters the view for everyone. Best to export the sheet and do it in Excel.
Wow. Latest changes made it even slower. Takes like 5 minutes just to load the spreadsheet here 🤣
Anyway i was about to update my entries but I'm not sure what to enter for the laptop. There's a Mobile Pentium 133 in there which is soldered on the mainboard ("socket" TCP320 according to cpu-world). Could you add mobile variants to the CPU list, too?
edit: oh I see you locked it again.
Ok there IS a way for people to sort and filter 😀
It's called List View:
Here the steps:

Yea man sorry, hit the panic button when someone sorted everything on my screen 🤣
Mobiles, why not? The pull-down menus aren't forced. So you can still type whatever you want in, you just get a warning. I can then add it to the lookup sheet when I get to it 😀
@ Elinda I looked up that CPU and while technically there was a 386 without the DX, the DX refers to double word (32 bit) and SX to single word (16 bit). Is there anything else different about this chip? Is a DX-16 faster or was it just a relabelling. To me this is more like a revision thing and if we go down that path we will never get this thing finished 🤣
ok I think the differences are not so strong to legitimate an additional entry. However the sheet seems to be locked for any change now.

Oh dear. Unlocked again.
I tried out that 370 to Slot 1 adapter and added a few scores.
Ok the CPUs are all cleaned up. Now we just got to sort out the graphics card section.
I added / fixed all the GPU makers. Most model numbers are also good to go. Just a real lack of information on video card / model number. Look for model numbers like CTxxxx or MSxxxx. That might give you a clue if it's a branded card 😀
If not, there is option Unknown / Generic to select.
Great work with the updated table! I just added results for 386SX-40 modded to 25MHz frequency. Strange thing though, 3DBench showed 500+ FPS. I had to calculate the result as 478 frames divided by 68.58 seconds.
Could you please add x18 mulitplier? It's stock for Core Q6700 and Xeon 3230. Adding "Unknown / Generic" value for mobo maker would be also great.
And what happened to 186 and 286 results? 🙁
18x is there. If it doesn't take it, choose something else, like 1x, then change it back to 18x.
I might add an extra section for XT and 286 machines. We are just looking for benchmarks that run on these machines. Any suggestions?
You can use the files in the MS-DOS Benchmark Archive if you like!
