I have a Sound Blaster AWE 32 CT3900 under Windows, and I can run any MIDI game with any source: MT32, etc... But in MS-DOS, emulation never works. What am I doing wrong? I've tried everything, but I don't understand why it works in Windows 98 and not in MS-DOS.

Bear in mind that any protected mode games (dos4gw) will not work with MT32/GM emulation. Even when it’s not a protected mode game, it might just not work with this game…
What games are you testing it with?
… and just to be sure, you are running those DOS games in pure DOS, not through Windows 98 right?

Sure, right... Knowing what you have tried already would help a lot... Have you tried the latest version of AWEUTIL, v1.36? Sometimes, mouse or cdrom drivers can screw up things and you should try with the simplest autoexec.bat and config.sys possible...
I have a CT3930 and can run MT32 or GM mode with Street Rod 2, X-Wing, Monkey Island, Budokan, Fate of Atlantis, DOTT and a few more without issues... Maybe you can try one of these to see?
