Could anyone give me any guidance on how to open this case? There's only one screw visible in the back, nowhere else. Taking the one screw out doesn't seem to have any effect.

This is a rebranded Fujitsu ICL. The top cover (incl. sides) will slide forward (towards the end with the floppy- and CD-ROM drive) after you've loosened the screw that holds it in place.
[Install Win95 like you were born in 1985!] on systems like this or this.
