Hi, all.

I have a 386 DX-40 running MSDOS. I'm using an ES1868 sound card that was working great until it stopped working. This is the card:

I turned on the computer today and ran a game that has music through the sound card, but the music was on the PC speaker instead. It didn't let me select adlib music, so I restarted the computer. Then it worked fine. But the next time I restarted the computer, I had the same problem. Then I realized this was showing up on boot up (ignore the mouse error, it's fine):

I haven't changed anything on my autoexec.bat or config.sys:

And the paths are correct:

I made sure the sound card itself wasn't lose, but still it doesn't work. What could the problem be?

If you're sure this sound card is still functional

1. Try to reset the BIOS
2. Try to use another ISA slot

If nothing changed, get a multimeter, try to measure the following voltages, +5V, -5V, +12V and -12V. Make sure these voltages are available.

It looks like a hardware problem.
Try the card in another computer, and try another card in this computer...
