I have recently got into emulating DOS games using DOSBox. I am having trouble playing DinoPark Tycoon (1993). I believe I am setting it up correctly (mounting and all that) in DOSBox because the game acctually does launch, and I have been able to play other games. What happens is that it appears to start normally; it shows the developer's logos complete with sound. But then, the program stops (with the developer's logo still onscreen) and DOSBox does not notify of any error (my comp. doesn't freeze as I am still able to exit DOSBox).

This is very strange as http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/comp_list.php?letter=D says DinoPark Tycoon is supported.

I am using v. 0.63

I downloaded DinoPark Tycoon from HOTU.

Win. Me, 850 Mhz, 128 MB RAM, 16 MB nVidia TNT2 Vanta AGP graphics card

I would greatly appreciate any help, thank you.

Select Soundblaster in the setup (config.exe), default setting is
sbPro which seems to not work for some reason.
If that doesn't help, try some other sound settings, and use
(very) low cycle count like 1000 (see dosbox.conf).

And please don't link to any games, i removed it.

Thanks wd, changing the setup to SoundBlaster makes the game work. The only problem is that there is only sound fx, but no music. Do you have any further help to make the music work?

Works fine for me, be sure you have music enabled in the
setup (try sbpro or adlib sys for the music device).
Also try music+nosoundfx and nomusic+soundfx for comparison.
