These are a couple of old ISA card speech synthesizers using the SSI-263 (SC-02). I have an Artic SynPhonix. I know a guy who has a Votalker. Neither of us has software for either card. Somehow/somewhere I got the impression the two cards might be compatible, but I can't find a reference on that. Both of these cards have a 2764 option ROM on them, which is kinda cool for one of these speech add-on boards.

My SynPhonix might have a bad option ROM on it, so I'm hoping that someone who has this card might be able to dump the ROM and I can compare it to mine.

Thanks,
Scott

Also, I've dug up one reference -- a mention of software called "Sonix" for these board, though I have been unable to find it anywhere. This would be a vintage program called Sonix, not the modern Sonix at sonix.ai...

Other mentions I've found are "sonixtts.com" a driver program, and "porttalk.com" for linking it to an lpt port, and "artic business vision" a potential software suite that included these tools

A few more software keywords I've managed to dig up: "vest" and "advest", both drivers that might have gone with later versions artic software.

Still looking for sonixtts.com, which would probably be my best hit if I could find it...

I, too, am looking for Votalker software for my Votrax Personal Speech System device I have. I'm able to connect by a USB to Serial adapter, and input individual letters and words, but that is just a fraction of what the Votrax PSS will do. I'm hearing echoes of Votalker existing, but I don't get any specifics or leads.
Any help would be appreciated.
