Heyyyyyyyyyo,
I've played through the first two episodes of Duke 3D without issue except for one hilarious problem: throughout Lunar Apocalypse, Duke randomly decides to say all of his voice lines one after the other until I pause the game. He alternates between a high pitched goofy ahh cartoon mouse pitch and a ridiculously low pitch. Some other random sound effects sometimes play too. From what I can recall, this only happened in Lunar Apocalypse. I have a CT 4810 Sound Blaster card but haven't had any known trouble with echo effects. However, they could be causing this other issue. I'm playing in pure DOS on a Windows 98 SE Dell Dimension L1000R. Any help with this absurd problem would be awesome.

I've had this happen on an ESS1688 way back in the day too. Apogee Sound System just blasts its entire sound cache sometimes, though my memory of it happened on Rabid Transit

I was a PC gamer when DN3D was released, and it really surprised me that (in the UK, at least) DN3D only received a tiny amount of magazine coverage compared to Quake. I found DN3D to be much better than Quake, but the magazines rarely mentioned DN3D (other than when they first reviewed the game, I mean), but there were various Quake related articles, interviews, even just references to Quake when talking about other first person shooters. I know many people prefer/preferred Quake to DN3D, and of course that's fine, but it almost seemed like the magazines had forgotten that the utterly fantastic DN3D ever existed.
