Geforce 7600GS vs 6800LE

I know similar topics have been covered in the past and apologies for potentially asking something that's been asked before but I've been unable to find any solid reviews and benchmark results from back in the day that would allow me to compare these two cards.

I'm completing my Athlon XP Barton build (2800+ CPU, 2GB DDR, nForce 2 Chipset etc) and narrowed down my choice of graphics card to either a Geforce 6800LE or a 7600GS.

I'm leaning towards a 6800LE but 7600GS is half the price (What happened to GPU prices? Bonkers).

Running Windows XP, mainly to be used for early 2000s FPS games, Doom 3, Quake 3/4, HL2, UT2004, Halo CE etc.

What do we reckon? Thanks in advance 😀

I can't compare with the 6800 as I've only got a 6600GT to compare, but I'm currently running an Athlon 64 x2 build with a 7600GS and it has no problem running all of the games you've specified at 1280x720 maxed out or close to - I'm pretty sure they're very similar in performance, if anything the 7600 pips it slightly. If it's cheaper and you don't mind a newer card, I'd see no reason not to take the 7600 personally!
