I'm trying to get a Media Magic ISP-16 working with my PAS16. The problem is as soon as I run MVSOUND.SYS in config.sys the music no longer works with the ISP-16.

I've tried different IRQ's and DMa'S to the ISP-16

DEVICEHIGH=C:\PROAUDIO\MVSOUND.SYS D:3 Q:7 S:1,230,0,3 M:0 J:1

I've also tried disabling SB emulation on the PAS16 but that doesn't help

DEVICEHIGH=C:\PROAUDIO\MVSOUND.SYS D:3 Q:7 S:0 M:0 J:1

The ISP-16 is configured for A220 DMA 1 IRC 5 but as soon as that MVSOUND.SYS loads, that's the end of the music in games.

SET BLASTER=A220 D1 I5 T3
SET ISP-16=C:\ISP16
C:\ISP16\ISPINIT.EXE /B

Is there anything else I can try?

Are there any other devices in the system that could conflict on either IRQ 3 or 7? Do you need joystick on the PAS? Maybe turn it off with J:0. Also, it seems that M:x is used to set memory buffers and it seems that 10 is "normal". You have set it to zero.

Edit: Oh, on the PAS, definitely turn off SB with S:0

Edit 2: Sorry, I was wrong about the M: parameter. It's to enable/disable MPU.

I see that the ISP-16 card is a MAD16 chipset, it could be that some registers on that chipset are set via the AdLib range, port 388h. One possibility is that when MVSOUND.SYS does initialize the PAS16, it sends data through the 388 range, including 38A. It could be screwing up the config on the OPTI card.

I know for a fact that a PAS card, 16 or classic will not coexist with an AdLib Gold for instance if both cards need 388. MVSOUND.SYS will completely screw up the AdLib Gold configuration so the latter needs a different port
