Hi my Tandon tm 75-8 5.25 floppy disk drive won’t format any of my disks I’ve tried cleaning the heads
It’s a 1.2 drive and it is setup in bios as 1.2 just wondering if the wrong jumper settings could be causing this.does anyone know the correct jumper settings for this drive my computer is a 486 windows 3.1 pc

Tandon is not a common brand around here so I've never had one in my hands. Not the half-height ones anyway. Looking at photos on this page http://matthieu.benoit.free.fr/243.htm it seems there's not much there to set. You need a jumper on DS1 setting, and the rest of it open.

Not sure if the resistor on the MCU is a mod of some sort of a factory job - it's a rather odd thing with so many TTL chips, I guess an early version of HD drive that was based on QD drive.
