Hi all - long time reader, first time poster.
I'm posting this so others (including search engine indexing) can be aware of some undocumented motherboard behaviour:

I've picked up a system from when I was younger and have been feeding it parts. I decided to change cases recently and while doing so hooked up the front panel audio - in the words of the motherboard manual:
10) F_AUDIO (F_AUDIO Connector)
If you want to use Front Audio connector, you must remove 5-6, 9-10 Jumper.
Windows got quite peevish about a change of GPU so a reinstall happened. Afterward, I spent this morning rather confused why sound was silent - it wasn't showing as muted anywhere, drivers were correctly installed. I even booted off a USB to try SBEMU in freedos and was mystified when SBEMU was happily activating the audio, but Doom wasn't making any noise.

Just now, I tried putting those jumpers back - turns out Gigabyte omitted something fairly important in the manual:
If those jumpers are removed, rear audio is muted.
