I've gotten my hands the infamous PC Chips m919 motherboard, and like a lot of you; its not the easiest board to work with.

AND I need help. any idea what PCI video cards are compatible with this POS UMC chipset?

I bought a newer PCI Rage XL (even with modding the 3.3\5v regulator it wont post on this board.)
When that didn't work I bought a PCI Cirrus Logic GD5440, also wont post on this board.
I put in a ISA Cirrus Logic GD-6420 and it posts fine, everything seems to work perfect (except the cache as expected 🤣)

Am I doing something wrong? Does this board not support PCI video cards?

Which version do you have? What BIOS do you have?

I was able to post my M919 with a Diamond Stealth 64 / S3 Vision968 PCI Video Card.
I did not do the full usual test battery considering the motherboard was damaged when I did the test (it arrived without the magic smoke in the power mosfet so I was limited to 5V and had only a 486 SX at that voltage to test with).
So I mostly tested to confirm the board and video card post, that's it.... Will fix it... And find a case to fit it in... Eventually.
But it did post and ran a few of the dosbench benchmarks.

it is VER 3.4B/F and it has AMIBIOS from 03/06/1996

Definitely sounds like my board is being picky then, nice to know its at least possible to boot with PCI video 🤣

I've had a S3 Trio64V+ PCI with a 3dfx Voodoo2 work fine in it, AM5x86-133 @160.

That's awesome! How'd you go about the overclock? All I've been able to find is jumper settings per CPU, I know how to OC but I need an explanation as to what jumpers are for multiplier and what ones are for FSB. Haven't been able to find that info

Aside from the fake cache, I’ve had no issues at all with my two M919s (well, aside from having to replace the voltage regulators). They both overclock well, they are both surprisingly performant (though I do have a cache stick for the slot), and I’ve had no issues with any period correct PCI cards thus far.
