I found in my stash two different g400 max, the problem is that they are identified from windows 98 as two different models (clocks are the ones of g400 max) and they both use -5ns memory.
The first one is model 906-01 rev a identified as
The second is model 906-04 rev b identified as Matrox Millennium G400 Dualhead MAX
They also have different bios models, the first one has 2.1 while the second 2.1TV0
Pictures of both cards front and back:

The attachment 01_cr.jpg is no longer available
The attachment 02_cr.jpg is no longer available

Are both of them legit (I suspect the one without aavid sticker is fake)?

Thank you in advance.

Both legit?...

One explanation for the fan might be that it was replaced.
I purchased a bunch of fans from China last year to use with 3dfx and Matrox cards.
I wouldn't call them NOS but they are in good condition.
I recently added a Dell G400 Max to my collection and it had a broken fan (bad wire and cracked fan blade).
The replacements are AAvid but they don't have a sticker on the top, just the back.

I haven't tested my card yet but the memory looks to be 5ns (km4132g1120-5)
PCB says 906-04 REV : B
Dell part number on back sticker D P/N 0008068R REV.A00
G4 + MMDHA32/DELL

So I'm thinking if anyone has a fake G400 it's me Haha
IMHO the cards are so complex it would be difficult to create a fake.

Matsonic MS6260s// K62 500// TB Montego II// Geforce FX 5200
Asus A7A266// AthlonXP 2400+// SBLive CT4780// Voodoo 5 5500
Toshiba P25-s670 // dual boot win98se and XP // Pentium 4 3.4ghz// Geforce fx go5700 128mb

You are right but chinese can fake everything ahahah
Jokes aside I thought that someone flashed the g400 max bios on a g400, I was wrong though.
Shame that the AAVID stickers are off I would have bought some of them gladly.

The upper card is first revision, which had issues with AGP 4x. The lower card was later revision (4HA), fully functional AGP 4x with removed TV-Out solder placement, which was never used on G400 cards anyway.

I must be some kind of standard: the anonymous gangbanger of the 21st century.
