Hello everyone,

I intalled the card's driver ((Boca soundexpression) l wrote an other post about this card).Loading the driver in Ms dos mode (CSACMOD1.EXE) ,sound works great(with original OPL3 chip). But in the dos window inside win 98,the sound is laggy.(The same as Ms dos mode, before loading the driver in Dosstart.bat).

So now, what can I do to fix the sound problem in dos window? Is it a driver or a mixer setting?

*WSS inside windows works too

Thanks!

Which "Boca soundexpression" do you have exactly?

If the SE1440, take a look here:
Boca Research Sound Expression SE1440
(doesn't specifically mention issues in Windowed DOS mode, does state the drivers are awful and suggest better ones)

Also, what sort of system are you running? Laggy sound could just be that your CPU can't keep up with running whatever DOS thing you're doing in a window.

The laggy sound in the DOS window within Windows 98 with your Boca SoundExpression card is likely a driver conflict issue, check for conflicting drivers.

If that didn't do the trick try modifying your DOSStart.bat file. There might be settings related to sound buffering or mixing that are causing the lag. Search online for specific tweaks related to your Boca card and DOSStart.bat configuration.

In control panel,I don't see a conflict issue.(IRQ 5,COM 2 are the settings of the card).

My Dosstart.bat has only one line that I added to load the driver for sound card.(Csacmod1.exe)
