Heyyyyyyyyyo,
I want to know the general opinion of the Diamond Stealth s3 savage4 pci. I want to know about compatibility in dos and windows, common problems, hardware conflicts, etc. To be clear I've already got this card and I want to know if it's a good idea to trade it out for a voodoo 3 3000 pci. It would also be cool to know if there's any market for it. Any help or information would be awesome.
Thanks

Your mileage may vary, but my personal experience and mileage of the whole Savage family i've had hard locks and driver incompatibilities regarding their AGP versions.

Savage4's perk is that it has the most early S3TC novelty material available for it, and it has free trilinear filtering.

Games that support the MeTaL API run nice on it, like the first two Unreal games. The Voodoo is the better all-round card though.

Is this too much voodoo?

OK ...think it depends on what motherboard+cpu and what OS you are going to run. For most DOS games the Savage is 4 is OK.

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun
