Hello all,

I'm looking for a Gateway OEM bios for an Intel VC820 motherboard. The one I got came with a Dell bios and I'd like to flash it to match the case it's going to be in. Checked the usual places and came up empty (p.s. Google really sucks now with all the AI junk).

Does anyone have the Gateway version of this board so you could dump the bios for me? Or a link to the download? I can't even find a computer with this motherboard in it on the archive of Gateway's support site, so I'm not even sure what file name to look for.

Far as I can see, there was never a driver / BIOS release for the Gateway board (pn:4000463 / codename: Vermillion) nor can I find any model it was used in. This seems to be the limit of what info there is...

Intel had a tool to change logo's, maybe you could use it IF you can find the original Gateway logo for say the Gateway Fedora (aka 4000622 aka Intel D815EEA) or similar... just a thought.

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

I've got a D815EEA but it has the Intel BIOS on it already. It's also not in a machine at the moment. I'll see if I can figure out how to extract it from my 440BX machine. It's got the Gateway banner that you get on startup.

Thanks for the lead.

I was able to make that work, but that only inserts the full-screen splash (E.G. when you have quickboot enabled). I always leave that off so I can see the POST messages. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Ahh ok was wondering if Phoenix based BIOS could have a small logo top right (Like Award and the "Energy" thingy). Have seen those replaced with others...

If you only want a small logo rather than the full splash screen, you might have better luck with the other Intel utility, Splash...
