Windows XP Soundblaster Live! Value (CT4830) crackling in some games

I get some crackling noise in some not all games in Windows XP.
In UT99 when I switch between EAX Support and non EAX the crackling only apears in the EAX Support.

Are there any recommended drivers for this card which can eliminate the crackling?

I tried the original XP drivers and the drivers from https://www.vogonsdrivers.com/getfile.php?fil … 220&menustate=0 but the crackling is present in both drivers.

Dumb question, but are you sure the volume isn't peaking? Try lowering volume on both Windows and in game mixers.

When I think Live crackles, I think of VIA's PCI bus

All volumes are turned to the mid sections.
