Hello everyone 😀,

I have an old Toshiba T1000LE Laptop. Its BIOS-chip is a TC54512AF-20, a one-time-programmable EPROM wit 28 pins.

The attachment BIOS-IC-Socket.jpg is no longer available
The attachment BIOS-IC-Socket2.jpg is no longer available

I would like to reprogram the BIOS to add support for an SD-Card reader.

I have some questions:

1.) Is there a compatible EEPROM for this chip?
EDIT: It looks like it is compatible to a 27C512 but is it really?

I have never seen such a socket in the modern days.

2.) Is this socket still available somewhere or is there a compatible version?

Thank you and best regards.
