Hello all,

I want to modify my 386sx board in that way that I can simply plug and exchange cpu types.

You can compare the idea with the sockets we use for playing around with different oscillators simply said.

At the end this kind of „Sockel“ would be soldered to where the 386sx would normally be soldered at. On the top of that socket „adapter“ you could plug in alternative pqfp100 cpus. Also comparable a bit with the socket for FPUs although pin connections would differ just for picturing the idea.

Does such thing exists?

Edit: there are these ZIF boards (zero insertion force) but I couldn’t find a fitting model

Edit: this is the closest I could find:

Thanks a lot
